From the magnolias to the great foliage at the Masters, Augusta-Richmond County has a strong mix of a vibrant business climate, a savvy labor force, and superb quality of life.  Although thousands of visitors flock to the masters in the month of April, Augusta is also focused on providing important operating advantages to new and expanding businesses.  Attracted by the area’s low cost of living and a ready labor force, Augusta maintains a healthy growth in business activity.

A great diversity of companies are located in Augusta-Richmond County, including E-Z-GO Textron, International Paper, Tyco Healthcare/Kendall, Kellogg’s, Thermal Ceramics, PCS Nitrogen, Solvay Advanced Polymers, General Chemical, Monsanto, CRL Warehouse & Logistics, Procter & Gamble, Weylchem, NutraSweet, DSM, Electrolux, Castleberry’s, SOLO Cup, Olin, Con-Agra, Finnchem, US Battery, Automatic Data Processing, T-Mobile, FedEx Ground, and many others.

In 2007, Augusta was named by BizJournals.com as “The Most Affordable Place in the United States To Own A Home”.  Housing in Augusta is approximately 52% of the national average.  Overall, the cost of living is about 82% of the national average. This translates in to overall lower operating costs for companies, making Augusta even more attractive for new locations.

Also in 2007, Southern Business & Development magazine named Augusta as one of the “Top Ten Places in the South With Plenty of Talented Labor.”  The 1800-acre Augusta Corporate Park was also named by the publication as one of the “Top Ten SuperSites in the South” in 2007.
