In 2007, Augusta was named by BizJournals.com as “The Most Affordable Place in the United States To Own A Home”. Housing in Augusta is approximately 52% of the national average. Overall, the cost of living is about 82% of the national average. This translates in to overall lower operating costs for companies, making Augusta even more attractive for new locations.
Also in 2007, Southern Business & Development magazine named Augusta as one of the “Top Ten Places in the South With Plenty of Talented Labor.” The 1800-acre Augusta Corporate Park was also named by the publication as one of the “Top Ten SuperSites in the South” in 2007.
